We have chosen the avocado as the subject of our first article about wonder foods. And this is not a coincidence. Avocado is one of the most incredible foods you can eat. Let’s see:
About three fourths of its calories come from fat, but it is monounsaturated fat. This is good. Recent studies have shown that eating a lot of avocados can lower blood cholesterol levels. After a week, patients with mild high levels of cholesterol have experimented a decrease of 17% in total cholesterol levels, a decrease in both LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglyceride levels and an increase in HDL (good cholesterol)
Some of the components of avocados have proved to be antibacterial.
This is not all. Avocados have 35% more potassium than bananas. This is good to avoid muscular cramps in winter. Avocados are also rich in B complex vitamins, as well as vitamins E and K.
Avocados are also rich in fiber, which do your digestive system a lot of good.
Scientists have determined that avocados may have anti-cancer properties and also the capacity of treating blood hypertension or diabetes.
Because of its high fat content, avocados are usually recommended to those persons that cannot eat other fatty foods like high-fat meats and fish, milk, cheeses, etcetera.
You may be thinking: “How on earth will I eat so many avocados? Won’t I get tired of them soon?”
The answer is easy. The answer is no!
The avocado has a subtly flavor and a smooth, creamy texture. Once you begin eating them you cannot stop.
And there are millions of forms of preparing it. You can eat it raw, slightly salted. You can eat it in salads. You can eat it as guacamole, spread on bread or tortillas.

You can add lime juice and sugar and eat it as dessert!
You can do sandwiches, sushi (the celebrated Californian rolls). You can add mayonnaise, shrimps and tuna (but this is not that healthy). You can add it to hamburgers and hot dogs.
In short, you can eat it in any imaginable way.
