Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream

Made without an ice cream freezer.

Ingredients

  • 2 (13 oz) cans evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 c. chocolate syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1 c. whipping cream

Method

Pour evaporated milk into a large mixing bowl. Place the bowl and beaters in the freezer until ice crystals form around edges of the milk. Remove from freezer and whip the milk until stiff peaks form. Fold in the chocolate syrup, vanilla flavoring, sugar and whipping cream. Freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight.

(Makes approximately 1 gallon)
