How to Make a Great No-Cook Dessert That Will Wow

published by Crissleigh on Aug 26, 2008

This brownie dessert is layers upon layers of goodness and so easy that a kid could do it. It is a great quick fix and no one will know it only took minutes.

This is a new twist on a old southern favorite called a layer or punch bowl cake just a little more dressed up to resemble a black forrest cake with out all the work . This dessert will work great for any occasion from a simple get together to formal dinner .

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes of Brownie Bites with or with out nuts
  • 1 can Cherry Pie Filling
  • 2 large Boxes of French Vanilla Pudding
  • 1Large Container of Cool Whip
  • 1 Jar Maraschino Cherries
  • 1 Solid Chocolate Bar (Hershys Will Work Fine )
  • Large Glass Bowl

Preparation

  1. In a bowl mix pudding as directed on the box and set a side.
  2. In the large glass bowl place a layer of the brownie bite in the bottom of the bowl cover with a layer of cherry pie filling ,then top pie filling with a layer of vanilla pudding then top with cool whip.
  3. Repeat layers ending with cool whip and top with maraschino cherries and chocolate curls.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 4 hours or overnight.

You can use any type of class bowl for this from a punch bowl to a trifle bowl if you are doing a formal dinner I suggest using individual glass bowls for a classier touch and you still use the same process . Try not to mix layers you want to be able to se each individual layer through the glass . To get great chocolate curls put the candy bar in the freezer to get cold and run a cheese slicer down the side of the candy bar .
