The is an amazing recipe for butter cream icing.

I used this recipe this week to make a cake, and I found it absolutely amazing. It tastes so good, and smells so nice. Not to mention it looks wonderful. This particular icing may not be light and fluffy enough to so people, but it works all the same!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Directions

1.     In a large bowl, cream together the butter, shortening, and vanilla. Blend in the sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the milk, and continue mixing until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered until ready to decorate.

This recipe made icing that I would die for… This recipe made 20 servings, enough to frost a 13 by 9 inch pan. It made the cake look beautiful and elegant, and with the addition of fondant any cake could look like a pro made it.

Do you guys have any good icing recipes? Thanks for reading, and I hope to here your opinion!
