How to Make Popcorn Balls
Here is a recipe on how to make popcorn balls. Serve them at parties, pack them in lunches and more. It’s simple, easy, and no-bake. This may taste like kettle corn, just in case you don’t like it.
Ingredients
- 2 bags of popped popcorn (I would use the full-size packages of Act II.)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup of water
Method
- Bring the water to a boil in a pot, and add the sugar. Stir occasionally. The sugar will turn into a syrup, and then pour it into a bowl.
- Try to cool the syrup slowly, because if it cools too quickly it will turn into hard candy. Once it has cooled it will thicker, and pour it into a bowl with the popcorn. If you think that it will make the popcorn soggy then pop another bag or so, and add in half at a time.
- The mix should basically be sticky popcorn with nothing else. Get a pan, plate, or anything else to put the popcorn balls on and then roll sticky popcorn into balls and set them on the pan. There is no need to bake them.
Warnings & Tips
These are not supposed to be Halloween treats, because a lot of parents don’t want their kids to be eating homemade treats unless they know the baker personally. The best thing is to give these out at parties and stuff like that inside.
Try to be careful with the syrup. It’s the same stuff they use to make candy with and soon the outside will harden, but the inside will be soft and crunchy. Show the little kiddies to break them in half if they are having a hard time with them.
You can add food coloring to the syrup before making them and it will be good to eat too.
