Homemade Raspberry Icecream

published by pearl2010 on Jan 30, 2010

This is for people who don’t own an icecream maker. If you like raspberry then why not making them into a yummy icecream in the comfort of your home? Now,here is the ingredients and method how to make your own.

Ingredients:

1 pint raspberries, or 10 ounce package frozen raspberries, thawed

3 egg yolks

3/4 cup sugar

2/3 cup milk

2/3 cup heavy cream

Procedure:

1. Rinse the raspberries, if fresh, and drain them. Set them aside.

2. Put the egg yolks and sugar in a blender. Beat until light and pale.

3. Combine the milk and cream in a saucepan. Heat until just below boiling. Add to the egg mixture in the blender in a thin stream, beating as you add. Return the mixture to the saucepan and heat over a very low heat, stirring occasionally, until you have thick custard that coats the back of a spoon. Cool.

4. Put the raspberries in a blender and puree. Add the custard and blend until smooth. Taste for sweetness. The mixture should be fairly sweet since ice cream will taste less sweet after it is frozen. Transfer the mixture to an ice-cream maker or freezer tray. (If putting in a freezer tray, cover with aluminum foil). Stir once before fully frozen to prevent ice crystals from forming.
