Homemade Strawberry Ice-Cream Recipe

1 cup of strawberries cut in halves

100 ml readymade strawberry crush or squash(I prefer to use the crush)

100 ml full fat fresh cream

200 ml whole milk(cold)

Sugar to taste(generally I don’t use sugar in this recipe)

Stir together the crush/squash, cream and milk. Taste. If you want it sweeter add more squash or crush or sugar(whatever you like!).Pour the mixture into  ice-cream maker and when the ice-cream  is ready add the chopped strawberry into it and stir (just a little bit!).

If you don’t have an electric  ice-cream maker, blend together all of the ice-cream ingredients (except the chopped strawberries),in an electric blender, for a few minutes. As above, If you want it sweeter add more squash or crush or sugar(whatever you like!).  Pour the contents into a bowl, cover and then place in freezer to set. After the ice-cream has set(or almost set) take it out of the freezer and whip it till it is light and creamy again. Now add the chopped strawberries and stir. Place ice-cream once again to set in freezer.

Thank you. I like the part about pulling the ice cream out just before it set and whipping it up again before adding the chopped strawbs. I do have a machine but I think this would be nice too! …

i do not have an ice cream maker, but I make a “melted” version with my blender. I put in strawberries, bananas, maybe some apple, a splash of orange juice and some honey. I blend it for a minute, and the result is something like melted ice cream. The apple and banana give it substance, and the taste is great. You know what also bumps up home made ice cream? Blend (with a blender) a bit of cottage cheese with the milk. You end up with something that tastes like strawberry/banana cheesecake. Yum! Thank you for your recipe. I had forgotten how to make ice cream without an ice cream maker!
