Milky Corn Surprise (Mais Con Hielo)

Experience the popular dessert of Filipinos and make it worthwhile especially summer time.

 Part of the fun of eating this milky dessert from a parfait glass is stabbing at the crushed ice to get to the bottom of the glass, where all the sweet corn lies. A truly refreshing sweet, this is favorite of the Filipinos during the hot summer months.

Ingredients:

 (2) 415-g cans (30 oz) cream style corn

150 g (3/4 cup) white refined sugar

750 ml (3 cups) Evaporated or Fresh Milk

Crushed Ice

Vanilla Ice Cream (optional)

Procedure

You will need six dessert bowls or tall parfait glasses. Into each bowl, spoon 1/2 cup cream-style corn. Add about 2 tablespoons sugar. Pour 1/2 cup cup milk into each bowl. Top each bowl with crushed ice. Add vanilla ice cream if desired.
