Jackie’s Nutty Raisin Bread Pudding
This is my mother’s delicious raisin bread pudding with pecans and cinnamon. This recipe has been in our family for more than 40 years.
Ingredients
- ½ cup of dark raisins
- 2 cups of milk
- ¼ cup of butter
- 3 cups of white bread cubes
- ¼ cup of sugar
- 1/3 cup of chopped pecans
- ½ tsp of cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. of salt
- 2 eggs beaten
Method
- Soak the raisins in water for 20 minutes then drain and set aside.
- Heat the milk and butter in a sauce pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the next 6 ingredients including the raisins.
- Add the milk/butter mix and stir gently.
- Spoon the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Place the dish in a pan of hot water at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes.

I always loved my mother’s recipe but my wife and kids hate raisins. I make one for myself and then make on for my wife and kids without raisins.
