Molasses Biscuits

  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tablespoon shortening (use chicken or beef fat)
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoon or more sugar
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  1. Make into soft dough, omitting molasses and water.
  2. Roll out on floured board, sprinkled with chopped nuts.
  3. Roll into jelly roll shape.
  4. Cut in slices about 1 inch thick.
  5. Grease muffin tins or cookie sheet.
  6. Bake in hot oven 425 for 20-25 minutes.
