Not Your Ordinary Fudge

published by Josey on Sep 3, 2008

With only 10 minutes to prepare, this may be the easiest fudge you’ve ever made.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Peanut Butter (use crunchy if you like a nutty taste)
  • 3 sticks of margarine
  • 32 oz bag of powdered sugar
  • 8 slices of American yellow or white cheese
  • 1 ½ cups cocoa

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl add all ingredients
  2. Mix with hands as if making bread
  3. Continue to kneed mixture well for 5-10 minutes until it forms a thick, fudge consistency
  4. Form mixture into 3 to 4 large balls and place on cookie sheet
  5. Press mixture onto cookie sheet to desired thickest
  6. Refrigerate for 2 hours
  7. Slice and serve

I’d like to try this recipe. Here in UK we don’t buy margarine in sticks. How much does a stick of margarine weigh, please?

Here in Cyprus we use cups for the dry ingredients and then the same in UK for the margarine as louie mentions, I wonder if a stick is an ounce? I will play and then eat as this sounds scrummy!

I didn’t realize that they didn’t have sticks of butter or margarine outside the U.S. Hopefully this will help:
1 stick of margarine or butter = 1/4 pound
    1 stick = 1/2 cup
    1 stick = 8 tablespoons
    1 stick = 4 ounces
    1 stick = 113 grams

I’ll be honest, Ido a lot of the cooking in my house because my wife works at night and with 4 kids we need to share. They love fudge so this is being prepared this weekend. Excellent and thanks for sharing this! ~ Michael

This is a lot easier than standing over a hot stove cooking it. I have made fudge similar to this. I didn’t use as much margarine and I used a scraped irish potato. It provides moisture and gives the fidge a nice mealy feel.I will try your recipe when the kids want fudge.
