How to Make Apple and Nut Pastries
A recipe on how to make apple and nut pastries.
This recipe makes a total of 4 apple and nut pastries.
Ingredients:
- 2 sheets of rolled puff pastry
- 50 grams of butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- ½ teaspoons ground mixed spices
- 1 Granny Smith Apple (cooking apple)
- 4 macadamia, cashews, almonds or pistachio nuts
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius
- Line a baking tray with baking paper
- Cut the pastry into 4 rectangles and place on the baking tray, not touching each other
- Mix the butter, sugar and spice
- Brush the mixture into the middle third of each pastry
- Peel the apple and cut it into wedges. Cut the apple into thins slices and lay on top of the mixture.
- On the outer thirds of the pastry, slice them to form a “plait” effect when pulling up on top of the mixture and apple
- Brush any remaining mixture on top of the pastries. Sprinkle the nuts on top.
- Bake for 15 minutes in the oven or until golden brown
