Sweet Semolina Balls
May not be appropriate as a dessert but kids will love this dish.

rawa laddu /suji ka laddu
people go goo goo gaa gaa about it, its the most relished sweet festive dish in India and very simple to make
Ingredients
- semolina- 1 cup
- grated dry coconut 3/4 cup
- ghee/Indian home made butter- 2 tbsp
- sugar 1 cup
- water 3/4 cup
- cashew and raisins fried in ghee
- pistachios for garnish
- a little cardamom powder
- and thats it now we are ready to make are little magical delights
Method
- we take a pan add the butter and fry he semolina in it till its golden brown and gives the aroma,add cardomom powder and crushed cashews when you take it off the flame
- now add the grated cocomut and continue frying for may be about five minutes or so
- now take another pan,dissolve the water and sugar and bring it to a boil and simmer it for 15 minutes till it gets to the string consistency ,when u r stirring the syrup you can see the stickiness in the syrup
- and now take it off the flame mix the semolina mixture in it,mix them well and allow them to cool for about 30 minutes or less,till it is cool enough to make balls with your hands…you need to keep stirring the mixture at regular intervals to avoid the lumps and now when the mixture is a little warm start making the balls ..
- garnish with pistachios,cashes and raisins
- these can be stored in an airtight containers
kids will luv them
