A simple and straight forward recipe to make peanut butter fudge with tips on how to make it turn out right. Smooth or patterned it’s up to you.
For all you fudge lovers and others with a sweet tooth here’s a recipe that is sure to delight; peanut butter fudge. Oh! Yes! The only real decision that needs to be made is whether to use smoothie or crunchy peanut butter.
Ingredients
- 3 Cups of Sugar
- ¾ Cup of Butter
- 2/3 Cup (160 ml) of Evaporated Milk
- 1 Cup of Peanut Butter
- 7 Ounces (198 Grams) of Marshmallow Crème
- 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
Method
- Grease/butter a 9” x 13” x 2” tray
- Start by combining the sugar, butter and evaporated milk in a heavy medium non-stick saucepan and then over a fairly high heat bring to a rolling boil remembering to stir continuously as you do
- Adjust heat to medium and continue boiling and constantly stirring for another 5 minutes. Remember you must stir constantly to avoid scorching the mixture.
- Now remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until it has all melted and blended evenly throughout the mix
- Then add the marshmallow crème and the vanilla. Beat until the entire mixture is well and truly blended and of even pasty consistency throughout.
- Pour the mixture into your already prepared 9” x 13” x 2” tray. Use a spatula and finally run some water over the spatula to smooth the top off. If you want a swirl pattern on top use a moisten fork after the spatula. It works best to smooth first and pattern second.
- Let cool at room temperature till and then refrigerate. Leave in refrigerator overnight before attempting to slice. The slices will have smoother sides if you do so. Enjoy!
