Pears Gingerbread Upside Down Cake
This is a delicious moist dessert. The pears and the ginger flavour make a nice combination.

Pears Gingerbread Upside Down Cake
- 1 can pears , drained
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 1/2 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 teaspoons soda
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- In a tube pan, pour the melted butter evenly on the bottom.
- Add the 1/2 cup of brown sugar , evenly
- Then place pear halves all around the bottom of the pan.
- Then mix the batter
- Mix the brown sugar, butter and eggs, beat well.
- Add the molasses.
- Sift the flour & spices & soda & salt together.
- Lastly blend in the boiling water.
- Pour evenly in the pan over the pears.
- Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Can be served with whipped cream and a cherry on top.
