Chocolate Chess Pie

This old fashioned treat is like a fudge brownie in a pie crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked pie shell
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 stick margarine, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 10 tablespoons evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix sugar, cocoa and margarine in medium bowl. Add eggs and beat well. Blend in evaporated milk, vanilla and salt.  Pour into pie shell and bake until tester in center comes out clean  (center will look soft), 35-45 minutes.  Cool and serve with whipped cream.
