Remember back when Grandma made the most amazing pecan pies? Well, now anyone can with this simple, yet delicious recipe.

Ingredients

  • 9 inch unbaked pie shell
  • 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 heaping cup pecans

Method:

Preheat oven to 350°F.  Mix corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, salt, vanilla, and butter well in a large bowl.  Pour into pie crust.  Sprinkle with pecans, or layout into a creavtive, decorative design.  Bake in oven about 45 – 50, using a toothpick to check starting at 45 (pick will come out clean when pie is done).  If pie begins to brown too early, wrap in foil for remainder of baking time.
