Cranberry-almond Apple Pie

Great Cranberry-Almond Apple Pie Recipe.

Ingredients

·         1 c. of  sugar

·         1/4 c. of  all-purpose flour

·         3 tbsp of butter or margarine, melted

·         1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

·         1/8 tsp. salt

·         6 medium baking apples, peeled and thinly sliced

·         1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries

·         1 pastry shell

TOPPINGS:

·         1/2 c. packed brown sugar

·         1/3 c. all-purpose flour

·         1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

·         3 tsp butter or margarine

·         1/3 c. sliced almonds, toasted

Directions

1.     In a bowl, combine the sugar, flour, butter, nutmeg and salt; mix well. Add the apples and the cranberries; stir it gently. Pour it into a pie shell. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, flour and cinnamon; cut in the butter until crumbly. Stir in the almonds; sprinkle it over filling. Bake at 350 degrees F for an hour, or until the apples are tender.
