Holiday Hot Buttered Rum Mix

published by catsnk9mom on Nov 29, 2009

This recipe makes a great after dinner dessert drink. It is also great to have on hand to serve drop in guests throughout the season.

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened

Spiced or plain rum

Boiling water

Cream butter, sugars, and spices together with an electric mixer.  Beat until smooth.  Add ice cream.  Beat until well blended.  Put into container, cover tightly, and freeze.  Mixture will not freeze solid.  When ready to serve put about 2-4 Tablespoons in a mug.  Add 2-4 Tablespoons of rum.  Fill each mug with boiling water.  Stir and serve.
