Everyone loves pie! Recipes for out of the ordinary pies will be sure to impress family and friends. Take a look at some quick and easy pie recipes for you to try today! I am taking several to my neighbor’s outdoor barbecue tomorrow.

Silky Custard Pie

1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell

4 eggs, slightly beaten

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 1/2 cups milk, scalded

Dash nutmeg

Thoroughly mix eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla.  Slowly stir in hot milk.  Pour at  once into unbaked pie shell.  Top with a dash of nutmeg.  Bake in a 475 degree oven for 5 minutes, then reduce heat to 425 degrees and bake 10 minutes longer or until knife inserted half way down center comes out clean.

Sour Cream Peach Pie (Very few ingredients here!)

1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell

6 medium peaches or frozen peaches, thawed

1/2 cup sugar

4 tablespoons flour

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup sour cream

Peel peaches, cut into eighths, and arrange in pie shell.  Blend sugar, flour and cinnamon; sprinkle over peaches.  Spoon sour cream over peaches and bake in a 425 degree oven for 45-50 minutes. 

Strawberry Marshmallow Pie (No oven needed!)

1 1/4 cup Graham cracker crumbs

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup melted butter or margarine

20 marshmallows

1/4 cup milk

1 pint fresh strawberries

1/2 pint Cool Whip

Combine cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and melted butter.  Press in bottom of pie plate.  Bake in a 350 degree oven 3 to 5 minutes.  Cool.  In a saucepan, combine marshmallows and milk; melt and cool.  Stem, wash and slice berries.  Combine with whipped cream and pour into cooled crust.  Chill thoroughly.
