Yummy Yogurt Pie
This is my family’s favorite summertime dessert. It is quick and easy, as well as low cost and delicious. It can be made low fat and low sugar as well.
Over 20 years ago a friend needed a dessert in a hurry when she remembered she was to supply one for the group coming to her house in less than an hour. She made this recipe and passed it along to me. It has been passed on to many friends and family through the year and is a staple at our house in the summer when we want something light, cool and refreshing.
This is one of the first things my girls learned to make since they could mix it up even as small children. They loved picking out different flavors of yogurt and experimenting with garnishments. As we have had to become more careful with fat and sugar, this is still one of our most loved recipes since I can use fat free cool whip and sugar free cool whip and yogurt.
Ingredients
- 2 8 oz containers yogurt
- 1 16 oz cool whip
- 1 crumb pie crust
Preparation
- Mix yogurt with cool whip and stack in pie crust. Chill at least ½ hour.
- You can vary this a lot with different kinds of yogurt, flavors of cool whip and using graham cracker crust, vanilla wafer crust or chocolate crumb crust.
- Garnish with fresh fruit if desired. Can be made with fat free cool whip and sugar free yogurt for dietary needs.

Great recipe for a quick and easy dessert that would be cool and refreshing on a hot summers day! I think I would add some fruit to it as well.

This is exactly the recipe my brother uses whenever we have company of big occasions. He uses key lime yogurt and it tastes like a homemade key lime pie. It always gets rave reviews. I do not usually eat yogurt but when he prepares this pie I can’t wait to get a big piece.

This sounds downright yummy and easy! The best part is having a dessert without turning the hot oven on. I will be trying this recipe this soon!

Oh wow, this sounds so good! I love key lime pie (keeping in mind cangel’s comment) so I’ll have to try it at least once to try that. I eat an unusual diet (I’m a raw foodist) but I think I could make it work… And if not, I bet its worth it.

This recipe is so easy!! I love having quick, easy recipes to cook in summer. This sounds like a great and light summer recipe. I look forward to trying it. I’m even going to bookmark it! It’s versatile, too…there are so many different flavors of yogurt out there. You could make something that tastes “evil”, even if it’s good for you. Thanks!
