This is called "Rodonero" in Greece we use it in many sweets, cakes and ice cream anything that you want to smell like a fresh rose.I am giving two recipes for this drink the first one is easier but the other one is in my opinion is perfect, but it needs time ,you should defenitely try them.

For this recipe you will need the  roses to be very fragrant and aromatic, the more they are the better the rose drink!!!

Time :1-2 hours

Ingredients

  1. rose petals (the more the better)
  2. Deionized water (I do not know the exact term sorry Google translate!!!)

Preparation

     1. Wash the rose petals and place them in a saucepan with deionized water, enough to cover them.
     2. Put on low heat and let them for 1 hour or until you  see that the rose  petals have lost their color.
    3. Filter  and press them well,  to take all the rose oil . The  rosewater is ready!

This is my grandmother’s recipe is a great one I used to enjoy it  when I was little.(Now I am making it myself)

Now this recipe is tricky it depends on the water and the alcohol that you will use the taste will be different for the rose just pick the most fragrant one.(For the water prefer mineral or a tasty one,for the alcohol you can choose between vodka or TSIPOURO)

Time:At least three weeks-40 days

Ingredients

  1. rose petals (the more the better)
  2. 1  small cup of  Alcohol (vodka or tsipouro)
  3. Water (fill  the half of the  big jar)
  4. A big jar(glass)

Preparation

  1. Wash the rose petals with   the same  water that you will use to make the rose drink.(The tasty one!)
  2. Fill the half of the big jar with the water of your choice (The tasty one!)
  3. Add the alcohol and mix let for half an hour. Then add the rose petals.
  4. Leave it in the sun for at least three weeks the color of the roses will be fainter.
  5. Do not open it before the 3 weeks time!!!

Tips: You can enjoy it with ice cream (Vanilla=Heaven),add  it on cakes and cookies or other sweets!!!
