Rum Balls

published by DA Cournean on Apr 22, 2009

Don’t wait until Christmas to make these delicious, intoxicating goodies. Serve them at your next party or get together. Just keep them away from the kiddies!

I made these for the office Christmas party last year.  They do have a kick to them,  since they are not heated to burn off the alcohol.  They went fast and were the hit of the day!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Nilla wafers, crushed
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped fine
  • 2 Tablespoons  cocoa
  • 2 Tablespoons honey or dark Karo syrup
  • 1/4 cup rum

Method

Stir together rum and honey or syrup.    Add wafers, powdered sugar, walnuts and cocoa. Mix well.  Using about a heaping teaspoonfull of dough, roll into balls and then roll into powdered sugar to coat.  Store covered in refrigerator.  This recipe makes about 40 balls.

* 1 Tablespoon rum flavoring may be substituted for the rum to make these non-alcoholic.

These things ought to be a side dish at every fast food chain. It might even help with digestion. Then again, I wouldn’t care!

This is what I planned to make not long ago, I don’t drink rum so I didn’t buy a bottle of rum to make this RUM BALL. Thanks for the recipe~
