Super Fast Fudge

published by Paula Mitchell Bentley on Sep 8, 2008

A fast and easy fudge that is made in the microwave from only two ingredients! They’ll never know you cheated.

Ingredients

  • 1  container (16 oz) of premade cake frosting
  • 1  package (6 oz) of chocolate chips

One of the best parts of this recipe is that the varieties of frosting and chocolate chips available at local markets is very large.  You can use chocolate frosting with butterscotch chips or mocha frosting with mint chocolate chips.  I’ve tried several different combinations and they all seemed to turn out deliciously!

Method

Empty both the frosting and chocolate chips into a medium sized, microwaveable bowl.  Microwave for 30 seconds.  Take the bowl out and mix it up really good.  Return to the microwave for another 10 seconds.  Take the bowl out again and mix it well.  Continue microwaving for 10 second increments until the chocolate chips are completely melted.

Pour the mixture into an 8×8 pan.  Refrigerate until completely set — approximately 1 1/2 hours.  Enjoy the fudge without the work!

Another variety you can try is to add chocolate bar bits (1/4 cup) to the mixture before microwaving.  These can also be bought at the market or you can squish up your own favourite type of chocolate bar.
