The Values of a Guava
I want to share something nutritional and delicious.
The guavas edible skin contains 218mg of vitamin C,which is five times more than an orange. It is also a good source of calcium, potassium, iron, vitamin A,and vitamin B9(folic acid, folate). It tastes like a combination of pear and strawberry; it’s seeds are edible. Being that it’s an tropical fruit it doesn’t need to be refrigerated.

I’ve included this tasty recipe:
Ingredients
- 10 tblsp butter
- 1 cp granulated sugar
- 2 cp flour
- 1 tblsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 lb guava paste,cut into 16 slices
Method
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat butter & sugar together until fluffy. Sift flour, baking powder, spices and salt together, then add butter mixture ,combine well. Add eggs one at a time & mix well. Spoon half the batter into a buttered 8-inch square baking pan. Top with the sliced guava paste & cover with the remaining batter. Bake for 35 to 40 min. until golden brown. Cool on wire rack. Serves 8 to 12.
