Vanilla Gelato
Avoid vanilla essence cos it is artificial, so use vanilla extract made from real vanilla seed.
serve 6.
5 egg yolks
225g caster sugar
500ml milk
125ml single cream
1tsp vanilla extract
1 vanilla pod (cut into thin strips)
methods :-
- whisk the egg yolks and sugar till the mixture is thick andpale yellow.
- heat the milk in pot and simmer and then whisk it into the eggs mixture.
- pour the mixture into a pot, cook over low heat. stir it constanly till the mixture is thick.dont let it boil for it will crumble.
- stir in the cream and vanilla extract and let it cool.
- strain into an ice cream box. freeze it.
- serve and garnish with vanilla pod strip.
