A comprehensive list of sounds that make me smile.

1. Children laughing.

2. The fuzzy sound when you walk with a cup full of coffee and whipped cream.

3. The humming of an air conditioner on a hot day.

4. Popcorn popping.

5. A fire crackling.

6. When the engines finally start going after waiting for an airplane to take of (generally followed by a less pleasant cracking of your ears).

7. A new computer starting for the first time.

8. The crinkling of tin foil being torn off of a chocolate egg.

9. Kittens purring.

10. Quick tapping of the keyboard keys when you get a really good idea for what you’re writing.

11. Murmuring of a crowd while waiting for a concert to start.

12. Sewing machines.

13. The wind in the trees.

14. Paper fluttering in a draft.

15. A happy crowd.

16. The gasp somebody makes when something incredible happens.

17. The sound balloons make when they’re being blown up too far.

18. Wrapping paper being torn.

19. When the wind catches the rim of a bottle in just the right way so that it makes a humming sound.
