Planning a long romantic morning with breakfast in bed for you and your sweetheart is easier than you might think and will be a special treat for the both of you!  Keeping the recipes for the breakfast easy and the clean up quick is important because spending time in the kitchen is not what you want to be doing on Valentines Day.  Follow these simple recipes and tips for your Valentines Day breakfast in bed and you’re sure to be appreciated!

Menu

·         Coffee

·         Sunrise Mimosas

·         Extra French French Toast

·         Hickory Smoked Thick Sliced Bacon

·         Fresh Berries with Cream

Begin preparation the night before so that you’re not spending a lot of time cooking in the morning.  Prepare the coffee machine to be ready to go, and rinse off the fresh berries for the morning.  Slice the bread for the French toast. Have all your ingredients and cooking utensils handy so that you don’t spend time searching.  Pre set the breakfast trays with nice plates, wine glasses, napkins and utensils.  Tuck your Valentines Day card for your sweetheart onto the tray as well.  Be creative and add flowers or other decorations to the tray.  Clean up will be quick because only one cooking pan is used to prepare the breakfast.  Total Cooking time is only about 20 minutes.

Sunrise Mimosas

Champagne, Orange Juice and Cherry Juice

Mix orange juice and champagne into a nice carafe, adding cherry juice to the top.  Serve this while breakfast is being prepared.

Hickory Smoked Thick Sliced Bacon

Start the bacon first in a non stick pan.  Cook until crispy, usually about 5 to 8 minutes on a medium heat.  Set the cooked bacon on a paper towel to absorb the grease and cover until ready to serve.  Rinse the pan and begin the French Toast.

Extra French French Toast

6 Slices French Bread, Powdered Sugar, 2 Eggs, ¼ cup Cream , Cinnamon , Maple Syrup

Beat eggs and cream till frothy.  Dip bread slices into egg batter and drop into a non stick pan.  Sprinkle cinnamon on one side, cook for two to three minutes until it’s just turning brown, and flip.  Sprinkle cinnamon on the other side and lightly brown as well.  Finish by sprinkling powdered sugar on top.  Don’t forget to warm the maple syrup for just a few seconds in the microwave, but be cautious, syrup gets very hot very fast.

Fresh Berries with Cream

Select a mix of fresh fruits such as strawberries or raspberries, and serve on a pretty dish with a bowel of fresh sweet cream on the side.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in bed, take this time to exchange gifts or plan your night out.  Your sweetheart will remember this special Valentines Day treat!
