The last thing anyone wants to drink on a cold night is a slushy ice filled drink. Tropical drinks are out in the dead of winter. It is the time of year to put a little heat into your stomach, in the form of a nice –and warm- cocktail.

Here is a list of the best cocktails for cold nights.

·         Baileys and Coffee.  The “king” of the warm drinks

To make this delectable drink is simple.  Just combine 1) 2 oz Bailey’s Original Irish Cream with 2) 4 oz hot coffee.  As an optional addition you can add some Whipped Cream for additional richness.

·         Snowmageddon

Another wonderful coffee based drink Snowmageddon packs a punch and is the drink that drinks like a warm coffee flavored treat.  To make the Snowmageddon combine in equal parts:

1)      Coffee

2)      Coffee liqueur

3)      Hazelnut liqueur

4)      Add Whipped cream, Syrup, and cinnamon stick

·         Hot Chai Tea Cocktail

Not everyone wants their hot cocktails to be “coffee” based.  For those tea lovers there comes along a great tea based cocktail for the cold winter nights.  Serves in a larger “tea” cup.

1)      3 Oz. Baileys Irish cream

2)      ¾ ounce Vanilla Vodka

3)      5oz.  Black Chai Tea

4)      Sprinkle chocolate and add a dash of simple syrup

·         Spiced Cider

This drink is another popular standby.  Many people have their own slightly different variations for this classic drink.  At its very basic it is a very simple drink.  Take about 6 ounces of apple cider.  Heat the apple cider until it is nice and warm.  Add in about 1.25 ounces of spiced run.  Sprinkle some cinnamon on top and serve.

·         Egg Nog

Cold Winter nights and a nice warm Egg Nog is as classical go together very well.  Sipping some warming Egg Nog in front of a crackling fire is an archetypical image of a great winter evening.  This fortifying and warming drink is a real Christmas classic cocktail for the cold nights.  To make this great cocktail simply combine:

1)       1/2 oz Irish whiskey

2)       2 oz Bailey’s Original Irish Cream

3)       1 egg

4)       2 cups boiled milk

5)      A sprinkling of nutmeg

·         Hot Buttered Rum

If you want a warm cocktail for a cold night that also has a little bit of a kick, it is hard to go wrong with this drink.
