Butter Cake
Do you love Sara Lee’s Pound Cake just like me? Or do you love the buttery smell that butter cakes elude? If you do, you are right spot on here!!
Ingredients:
- 250g butter
- 210g caster sugar
- grated rind of 1 orange
- grated rind of 1 lemon
- 4 eggs
- 250g self-raising flour (sifted twice)
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
Method:
- Pre-heat oven to 175 degrees celsius.
- Line a 20-cm round cake tin with greaseproof paper.
- Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
- Add orange and lemon rind into creamed mixture.
- Then add eggs, one at a time whilst making sure each egg is well-mixed into the mixture.
- Stir in sifted flour, bit by bit till no lumps or clumps appear.
- Finally, mix orange juice into the mixture.
- Spoon batter into cake tin and level the surface.
- Bake for about 45-50 minutes.
