Healthy Elixir Drinks with Raspberries and Peaches
Make a healthy Elixir, non-alcoholic cocktail, using raspberries and peaches. These non-alcoholic cocktails are all the rage in the coffee bars of Rome and Milan.
From the bestselling book The Basic Art of Italian Cooking by Celebrity Chef-Maria Liberati.
Raspberries are one of the top 10 antioxidant foods. Their antioxidant capabilities are not diminished by extreme temperatures (cooking or freezing). There is research being done now to treat cancer lesions with a gel derived from raspberries. They are also very high in vitamin c, folate and potassium and have both insoluble and soluble fiber. They also have anti-inflammatory benefits.
Peaches-1 peach provides 34 of the daily amount of Vitamin C necessary for an adult. They are also high in potassium and iron and have a gentle laxative effect.
