Be your own bartender and make a Classic Mojito at home.

The mojito is a highly popular rum, lime, and mint cocktail.  The mojito is incredibly refreshing and low calorie–making it a perfect summer cocktail.  The mojito is so popular that it has spawned numerous variations and modifications; however, this is the recipe for a classic mojito.

In order to make a classic mojito, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1.25 oz Captain Morgan® Original spiced rum (or other spiced rum)
  • 12 mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 0.5 oz lime juice
  • 2 oz club soda

Place mint leaves in bottom of a glass and muddle the mint leaves with the sugar and lime juice.

Add the crushed ice, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum (or comparable spiced rum), and mix the cocktail.

Top with club soda and garnish with mint leaves and a lime wedge.

You can also use light rum if you wish or substitute a lemon-lime soda for the club soda for a stronger lime flavor in the cocktail.
