Dandelion Wine

published by Wiggles18 on Aug 20, 2010

Who said dandelions are just an annoying weed!? You can make a pretty good wine out of those little yellow flowers.

Dandelion Wine

Ingredients:

-1 gallon of dandelion flowers

-1 1/2 gallons of boiling water

-juice of 3 lemons

-juice of 1 orange

-6 pounds of sugar

-1 tsp yeast

Directions:

Boil the dandelion flowers in the water for about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat source and allow to get down to lukewarm. Strain out the dandelion flowers. Add the juice and then stir in the sugar. Finally sprinkle that little bit of yeast on top. Let this mixture stand until fermentation stops. Bottle the dandelion wine and store it in a dark place. Enjoy!
