Fruit Smoothies

published by cardy on Feb 6, 2009

A good and fun way to give them five a day, grate at weekends to have some fun in the kitchen, with your little ones.

Smoothies and delicious to have at meal times, especially for breakfast. They are a great way of upping, your little ones intake of fresh fruit. They can be made with fresh or frozen soft fruits, raspberries, strawberries, ripe mango or canned apricots for example.

Here are a few suggestions:

Ingredients

  • 125ml fresh fruit juice,
  • 1 banana,
  • 2 x 15ml heaped table spoon
  • natural yogurt- Greek style,
  • 2 bananas,
  • 2 heaped table spoons,
  • of tinned of fresh pineapple,
  • 2 glasses of pure orange juice,
  • and a dash of water.

Method

  1. roughly chop the banana, put in blender.
  2. Add the liquid.
  3. Whizz for one minute in blender until smooth and frothy.
  4. Pore into glasses and serve immediately.
  5. Any fruit will taste great when blended, so have fun and experiment!

Special points

little ones should only use the blender under strict adult supervision.

Don’t forget to put the lid on the blender, this is one of my mistakes

little ones were so eager to have their fruit smoothies.

Go on give it a go.

adult supervision is required for my kids because they will finish the ingredients before the preparation is finished..
