Summer and lemonade tend to go hand and hand.

I found a few recipes and combined them to make a good lemonade.

Homemade Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 C. water
  • 1 C. lemon juice (4-6 lemons)
  • 3 to 4 C. cold water

Method

  1. Heat sugar and water in small sauce pan until sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. While the sugar is dissolving, roll 4-6 lemons on the counter then juice them or use a juice extracter.
  3. Add the sugar water and lemon juice to a pitcher.
  4. Add 3-4 cups cold water, more or less depending on how much you want to dilute it.
  5. If the lemonade is too strong, add a little sugar.  Not sour enough? More lemon juice.
  6. Serve with ice.

When buying lemons, choose the heaviest because they are full of juice.

You can also add in blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and other flavor to give your lemonade some kick! Puree the berries and strain if they have seeds. Add the puree to the lemonade and stir.

Homemade lemonade is perfect for your lemonade stand! Good Luck!
