Homemade Remedies for Fever

Fever is too much annoying for words, isn’t it? Sometimes, medicines bought in pharmacy are not effective. Well I have a compilation of homemade remedies for this common health problem which you may use both for yourself and family.
WORD OF CAUTION : I do not advise you to use these remedies on infants.

       Fever is the consequence of  your body’s immune system’s response to a foreign invader. It is easy to detect. Your skin feels hot like a heated pan . Unwelcome troubles like cough, cold , sore throat, fatigue, joint pain, back ache , head ache, chills and nausea plague your body. Well , say goodbye to fever by using the remedies listed below. Ready to plunge in the depth of ayurvedic healing? yes? So here we go!

 1. The Indian elixir: The magical Turmeric Milk

    

All you need for 1 glass of turmeric milk are :

1 pinch of turmeric powder

1 cup milk

1 pinch black pepper powder

1 tsp ginger paste

sugar to taste or honey

Boil the milk. Add the turmeric ,black pepper powder and ginger. Stir and add sweetener. Remove the milk from the stove and drink it warm. It is preferable to consume it at night before sleeping. It’s highly effective for fever and colds , and boost up your energy. On top of that , it is delicious! yummy! 

2. Basil tea

Boil 2 cups of water in a saucepan. Add 3 tablespoons sliced holy basil(tulsi) leaves, 1 teasepoon of lemon juice and two tablespoons black tea leaves. Stir.Remove saucepan from heat . You may add honey or sugar ,and drink.  It is tasty and brings down fever.

3. Onion

Stand on slices of onion. Yeah you understood right! Onion wil bring down your feverish temperature. 

4. Lemongrass tea

Take two lemongrass stalks and cut them into pieces. Boil for 10-15 minutes . Remove the tea from the heat and leave to cool.  Sweeten and drink. You may add ginger paste, black pepper powder or cinnamon during the boiling process. Lemongrass has antiseptic properties and boost the immune system.
