Low-Carb Coffee Latte for Less Than 50 Cents

published by benjaminpiper on Jun 8, 2009

Make your own low-carb lattes for less than 50 cents each. A quick, easy, and money-saving coffee and caffeine fix. Not espresso, but close.

You love your iced lattes, but don’t want to spend the money at a coffee shop or on buying your own espresso machine.  You can get everything you need for this recipe for about $3.50 and it is fantastic!  Get your caffeine fix, or just enjoy that tasty coffee flavor every day of the week for almost nothing!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of instant coffee (You can get a pack of 8 for about $1 at Wal-Mart)
  • 1/4 cup of heavy cream
  • 2 packets of artificial sweetener (I prefer the pink packets but everyone’s different)

Method

  1. Mix all of the above ingredients together in a freezer-proof mug and place in freezer for about 20 minutes or until the mixture is cold or partially frozen (depending on how you like it).  Add some ice and enjoy!

Net carbs: 2 grams

The beauty of this recipe is that you can easily take the ingredients to work and make yourself a nice iced latte during the day whenever you need a break or a little pick-me-up.  Add some cinnamon or nutmeg for flavor.

Just go easy if you use regular coffee as the caffeine can trigger an insulin response which may cause you to stray from your low-carb diet!
