The Bloody Sangria: A Holiday Drink

published by Jövö on Dec 24, 2009

With the holidays coming up soon, what better way to celebrate than getting totally drunk?

Every family has it’s own special holiday tradition. Some involve family gatherings, some involve going to mass, and yet others still involve home-made multiple-course meals. My family’s tradition is a bit more unconventional; getting extraordinarily intoxicated. This tradition has spanned generations, creating many new alcoholic beverages along the way. Below, I share with you one of my family’s favorite: The Bloody Sangria.

Ingredients:

  • 2/12 cup Cabo Wabo Blanco Tequila
  • 2 bottles White wine
  • 1 can Frozen Cranberry Juice
  • 2 cups Raspberries
  • 1/2 cup Blackberries
  • 1 cup Lime Juce
  • 1 cup Orange Juice
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Orange Liqueur
  • 2 Lemons
Directions:

1. Add the white wine, tequila, orange liqueur, cranberry concentrate, orange juice and lime juice into a large glass pitcher or bowl.

2. Stir in the sugar until dissolved.

3. Place raspberries in a small bowl and mash with spoon.

4. Stir in the mashed raspberries.

5. Refrigerate overnight, to let the flavors soak into the Sangria.

6. Serve over ice. (Serves 5)
