Blazing Turkey Chili

published by catsnk9mom on Nov 9, 2009

This is a hot and spicy chili that is low fat and high fiber.

Blazing Turkey Chili

1 medium onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 1/4 lb ground turkey

1 Tablespoon chili powder

1 Tablespoon cumin

1 Tablespoon dried cilantro

1 teaspoon Mrs. Dash Extra Spicy Seasoning Blend

1 - 10oz can stewed tomatoes with green chili pepper

2 – 14oz cans stewed tomatoes

1 – 16oz can light red kidney beans

1 – 16oz can white beans

1 bell pepper, chopped

Spray a Dutch oven with cooking spray.

Start to brown the turkey, onion, and garlic over medium heat.  Stir occasionally.

As this is cooking, add chili powder, cumin, cilantro, and Mrs. Dash.  Stir.  Continue to cook about 5 more minutes or until turkey is no longer pink.

Drain and rinse kidney beans and white beans.

Add beans, stewed tomatoes, and chopped bell pepper.

Bring to boil over high heat.  Reduce heat to low.  Simmer uncovered 10 minutes.  Stir occasionally.
