Braised Chicken

Now its time to make delicious braised chicken with simple steps and have a great dinner with your family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 800 grams of whole chicken trimmed, washed and dried
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper freshly ground
  • 6 flakes of garlic crushed
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of soya sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup of water

Method

  1. Rub chicken with salt, pepper and garlic.
  2. Mix tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soya sauce and vinegar. Marinate chicken in this mixture for about 2 hours.
  3. Remove and truss chicken for ease of handling. Reserve marinade.
  4. Heat oil in cooker for about 3 minutes. Add chicken and fry, turning and firmly pressing down chicken to ensure thorough browning on all sides.
  5. Away from heat, add water and marinade. Stir well to remove any frying residues attached to base of cooker.
  6. Close cooker. Bring to full pressure on high heat. Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Remove cooker from heat. Allow to cool naturally.
  8. Open cooker. Place chicken on serving dish. Keep hot.
  9. Return cooker to medium heat and boil till liquid is reduced to half. Serve chicken hot, accompanied with sauce.

    I’m no lover of chicken but this sounds delicious.
