Chicken Momos: Chinese Dumplings
Easy to make Chinese dish.

Chinese food is all about simplicity. Ever noticed Kylie Kwong preparing elaborate dishes with a hundred ingredients?? It is just ginger, garlic, soy sauce that brings chinese cuisine it’s authentic flavour. One such dish that is simple to prepare and tastes divine is ‘momos’. Let’s surprise someone we love!
Ingredients
- Flour 4 cups
- Water as required
Filling
- 250 gm minced chicken
- 2 large onions finely chopped.
- 1 inch ginger, chopped
- 2 Green chilli, chopped
- 1 tsp soya sauce
- Freshly chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- salt to taste
- MSG (optional)
Method
- In a bowl mix the flour with water and knead a soft dough.
- In another bowl mix the ingredients of the filling
- Take small pieces of the dough about the size of a walnut and roll them out into thin circles.
- Place a tsp of filling into each circle and taking the edges, pull it in the centre and pinch it so that the momo is sealed.
- Place the Momos in a steaming dish and cook for 10-15 minutes
- Serve it hot with red chilli cauce and clear vegetable soup.
