Chicken Nuggets, 100% Chicken and More!

published by RSIntel on Mar 26, 2011

Everyone is always asking "what’s in a hotdog?" But have you ever really asked yourself what’s in a chicken nugget?

Say hello to mechanically separated chicken. It’s what all fast-food chicken is made from—things like chicken nuggets and patties. Also, the processed frozen chicken in the stores is made from it. Basically, the entire chicken is smashed and pressed through a sieve—bones, eyes, guts, and all. it comes out looking like this. There’s more: because it’s crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color. But, hey, at least it tastes good, right? High five, America! Update: Below follow some of my responses to all the controversy this post has created. Christ, some of you people act as if I told you there wasn’t a Santa Claus.  See that? That’s your Chicken Nuggets, Chicken Patties, and other processed Chicken you can get in stores. It’s 100% chicken literally. What they do is mash up the entire chicken grind up all the bones and everything with it and push it through a sleve and it comes out into a taffy like substance.

Because of all the bacteria swarming the chicken now that it’s all mashed up, it will be dround in amonia to kill it. Now that it’s clean and reaks and tastes of amonia it will have an articial chicken flavor added to it. What once literally tasted like chicken now has to be reflavored artifically.

You’re also probably thinking, well it’s pink? My chicken nuggets and other things aren’t pink? To fix that they are then going to dye it to make it look like chicken.

So now we have 100% of the chicken mashed up, that no longer could taste or look like chicken so it was artifically added. I think we’re at about 30% chicken or less now. Mmm sounds appetizing. Now go deep fry that and we’ll see what chicken is left.
