Philadelphia Chicken Wrapped in Parma Ham

published by Emmie on Jun 2, 2010

A quick recipe guide for the very tasty Philadelphia chicken, that is wrapped in Parma Ham. Can be served with french fries, salad or anything you fancy.

Chicken is often seen as a boring choice of meat, but in my opinion it can be one of the tastiest- providing it is cooked with the right ingredients. Despite chicken being seen as a boring meat, it is probably the most used meat there is, because of the variety that you can make with it. Here is my recipe for Philadelphia chicken wrapped in parma ham. I normally have home made french fries with it, but you could have a nice salad, jacket potato or anything else that you fancy.

Serves 4:

Ingredients:

4 Chicken Breasts- Skinless and Boneless. ( You will only need one piece of chicken each as it is very filling.)

A pot of Philadelphia. ( There are many choices, it just depends what you like. If you have never tried it before, choose the original.)

8 slices of Parma Ham

A little Olive Oil.

How To Make:

1. Just before starting to make this dish, pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees if a fan oven and 200 degrees if not. Also wash your hands.

2. Heat a small layer of olive oil in a frying pan.

3. Whilst the oil is heating, take out the chicken breasts and cut a slit into each one. Not right across, but big enough so you will be able to fill with the Philadelphia.

4. Put the chicken breasts into the frying pan and cook on each side for about 5 minutes, turning every couple of minutes or so. You want the chicken just cooked, as they will be going in the oven for 20 minutes anyway.

5. Once cooked, remove from the frying pan and leave to cool on a plate for 10 minutes.

6. Now, take a small amount of Philadelphia and stuff each breast. My advice is not to put too much in, because it is a very strong tasting cheese. Then wrap each breast in two pieces of parma ham.

7. Finally, put them in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until cooked. Then serve with your accompanying side dish. To make a quicka and easy Greek Salad take a look at this:
