It’s finger-licking good!
Ingredients:
- 1 Deep Frying Pan
- 1 Pound of Chicken: breasts, thighs, wings legs-whichever you prefer.
- 1 Cup of oil- Depending how much chicken you are fixing you may need more.
- 2 Cups of Buttermilk
- 1 Small Chopped Onion
- 4 Stalks of Scallions
- 1 Tsp. Seasoning Salt
- 1 Tsp. Pepper
- ½ Tsp Mrs. Dash® Original Blend
- 4 Cloves of Garlic
- Fresh Thyme
- 1 Cup of All-purpose flour
- ½ cup of hard bread crumbs
Method:
- Chop onion, garlic and scallions as fine as possible.
- Season chicken evenly with seasoning salt, pepper and Mrs. Dash.
- Remove Thyme from stalk and massage into the chicken.
- Marinate chicken with seasonings, onions, scallions, garlic and thyme over night or from 6-8 hours.
- Once your chicken has been marinated long enough. Take a large zip-lock bag; fill it with the all-purpose flour and bread crumbs.
- Strain Chicken; make sure the chicken still has the seasoning on it- this is what gives it that southern taste.
- Dip each piece of chicken into flour and bread crumb mixture; make sure the chicken is well-coated.
- Before dipping each piece, heat oil in frying pan; make sure the oil is 350 degrees before placing the pieces of chicken in the oil. If the oil is too hot, the chicken will cook to fast or burn. Be careful when dealing with hot oil.
- Fry chicken on each side for 5-6 minutes or until the chicken is cooked evenly and no juices are running from each piece.
- Remove from oil and place on a paper towel or drying rack.
- Serve
