Southern Fried Chicken

A tasty recipe that almost gets the right taste for K.F.C

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of chicken breasts
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • Oil
  • Salt and vinegar chips (to your liking)

Method:

  1. Soak the chicken in the milk for at least 40mins, leaving them in the refrigerator
  2. While the chicken is soaking, prepare the flour by putting into a plastic bag. Crush the salt and vinegar chips and place in the bag with the flour.
  3. Remove the chicken from the refrigerator and place 2-3 pieces of chicken into the plastic bag with the flour. Shake. Continue this process until all of the chicken is coated.
  4. Dip the coated chicken into the milk again and then return to the plastic bag to coat with more of the flour mixture (all chicken must be double coated)
  5. Leave chicken to sit for 20mins before cooking
  6. Heat a little oil in a pan on medium heat and place 2-3 pieces of chicken into the pan, cooking until well browned. Continue with all remaining chicken until it is all cooked.
  7. Serve with a tossed green salad or home cooked chips. .
