Christmas Recipes: Leftover Recipes Ham and Macaroni Scallop

published by pattiann on Nov 27, 2011

If you are like my family and have ham for Christmas, here is an extra delicious leftover recipe.

1 8 ounce package macaroni

2 Tablespoons butter

1 Tablespoon flour

1 cup milk

1/4 tsp pepper

1 cup minced ham

1/2 cup grated cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs, homemade and buttered

Break macaroni into short lengths and cook in boiling salted water 9-20 minutes depending on which type of macaroni used. Make a sauce by blending butterc and flour smoothly, add milk and stir until mixture boils. Season with pepper only. Arrange in buttered casseroles or baking dish, alternate layers of macaroni, ham and sauce, sprinkling cheese over each layer of macaroni. Top with buttered crumbs to which a little additional cheese may be added, Bake 20-30  in 375F oven. 6 servings.
