Coconut Burfi

A sweet made from coconut,which has minimum ingredients, taking only thirty minutes or less.

                                    COCONUT SWEET

 

Ingredients:

1.      Coconut [one]

2.      Sugar

3.      Water

4.      Cardamom [two]

5.      Clarified butter [ghee] 4 tablespoons.

6.      Cashew nut[optional]

7.      Raisins[optional]

Method:

              Scrape the insides of the coconut after breaking it into two pieces. Grind it well in a mixer without adding water. Measure it. Take exact amount of sugar and melt it in a pan by adding water, which should just immerse the sugar. Stir the sugar till it has completely melted and become a little thick. Now add a little amount of clarified butter [ghee] into the syrup and slowly add the coconut. Stir it continuously, till the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan. Mix powdered cardamom to get a rich flavour. Spread it evenly on a plate {smear the plate earlier with clarified butter [ghee].}.Decorate with cashew nuts or raisins. Cut into pieces with a small knife, square or diamond that’s your choice. Have a happy time licking your fingers.
