Easy and Quick Garlic Bread Recipe

published by Petalm on Nov 3, 2009

Delicious garlic bread recipe which can be served with barbecue, dinner or even at thanksgiving and Christmas. Garlic bread goes with everything.

Garlic bread is very quick and simple to make. It can be made milky or parve, and with butter, margarine or olive oil. It would make a nice addition to the thanksgiving dinnertable as well. You can of course change the types of bread you use, and try brown bread, whole wheat or nutty bread. Here is my standard version of this barbecue and dinner favorite.

Ingredients:

1 baguette

Enough butter, margarine or olive oil to spread inside the baguette.

About 5 cloves of garlic

Small bunch of fresh Parsley or coriander

Salt and pepper

Method:

Crush the garlic.

Dice up the coriander or parsley finely.

Put the butter in a bowl and mix in the garlic and coriander well.

Season with a little salt and pepper.

Cut the baguette into slices about half an inch thick, but don’t complete the cut, so that the pieces remain attached to each other, and maintain the form of the baguette.

Spread the garlic butter on each side of each piece of the baguette.

Wrap the baguette in tin foil and put into the oven at about 180 degrees centigrade for about 20 minutes or until slightly crispy and the butter has melted into the bread.

Open up the foil and serve. Would also go well with cheese dips.
