Five Cooking Tips to Try
Here are just five quick tips that can trick up the way you cook some things.
Next time you make these foods, try the tip I suggest and see if it works for you.
Tip #1
Next time you make pancakes, instead of using vegetable oil or butter to grease the pan, use shortening, like Crisco white. This will make the pancakes edges get crispy and seriously delicious.

Tip #2
Have you ever wished you could make funnel cakes at home? Now you can. Put about a 1/4 inch of oil in a pan and heat it to frying temp. Now, the secret is to take your regular old pancake mix (not Bisquick) and make it like normal except instead of milk or water use orange juice. Then use a funnel, or just pour slowly from a cup into the hot oil moving the stream around so it cooks almost as soon as it hits the oil and makes all those curly-cue shapes. Top with powdered sugar.
Tip #3
Want to make killer fantabulous brownies? Next time put half the batter in the baking pan, then sprinkle chopped up York peppermint patties over the batter and then cover them up with the rest of the batter. Yummy!
Tip #4
Quick and Dirty Doughnuts will get you a dozen doughnuts without all the fuss. Bring home a can of Texas Biscuits from the grocer, any brand will do. Just not the flaky variety. Now lay the biscuits out and with a bottle cap cut a hole in the center of each. Fry in oil, flip once, roll in cinnamon and sugar. Ta-da! Doughnuts, you’ll be amazed at how good they taste.

Tip #5
Want the best homemade french fries you’ve ever had? Once you’ve cut up the potatoes make sure you fry them in butter flavored Crisco. You’ll never make homemade french fries the old way again.
Well there you go. Bon appetit.

Sounds good! I will definitely have to try the funnel cake trick. Here’s one for your pancakes – Using whatever mix you like, add an extra 1/4 tsp. of vanilla. Super yummy!
