Healthy Broccoli with Basil Mushrooms & Mozza Topping

This Broccoli Recipe is low calorie, low cholesterol and low sodium. Full of Vitamins & Minerals!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups frozen or fresh Broccoli spears
  • 2 Tbs. unsalted Butter
  • 4 Tsp. fresh Basil, chopped
  • 2 cups fresh sliced Mushrooms ( or 1 can sliced mushrooms and drained)
  • 2/3 cup mozzarella cheese, or more if needed, well grated

Cooking Directions

  1. Boil broccoli spears  in water but just “al dente”, not too soft.  Drain well. 
  2. Melt the butter, just use slow heat in a saucepan, add the mushrooms and mix with the basil.  Cook and stir gently until well heated. 
  3. Put the preparation with a spoon on top over the broccoli. 
  4. On aluminium plate, place all your preparation and top with the mozza grated.  Put in oven to Broil till the cheese is well melted ( like for a pizza topping).  *Note: If you prefer individual portion just divide and put in small portions on the plate or in nice ceramic bowls going to broil. 
  5. Serve this as “appetizer” with fresh bread or as “side dish” with your main meal.
  6. * Yes, of course, red wine drink can be good also to complete this recipe!
